I thought of your blog today when I read the news. I thought I would pass on this link to an article about an unexpected find during a garage clean out here in Melbourne.

Thanks for this — isn’t it amazing what people hang onto? Why would you keep a hand grenade? How could you be sure it wouldn’t go of??

I have done a couple of posts mentioning the careless way people treat explosives upon their return from war. It amazes me that they have allowed their kids to have them as toys at times!
In this case the person who owned the bag of goodies had died in the 60’s. I can’t believe his stuff was only just getting cleared out. I wonder what other explosive treasures lie in suburban sheds waiting to be found! 🙂

I’m delighted that we have stumbled upon each other. I will add links in ‘That’s Nothing Compared to Passchandaele’ and a list of the many books, museums, archives and references I turn to. TNCP as I call it is also a TV script which I’ll put up.

Thanks, Jonathan. I’m always looking for more links.
You’re going to post your TV script? How do you know I won’t cast Ryan Gosling and make a million bucks with it?
