I’ve always wondered what such a graph would look like. (Yes, we statisticians are indeed geeks!) I’ve always had the impression that there would be another bump up in books published in the 1960s as all of the veterans reached their 60s. Maybe someday I’ll figure out if that’s true…

I must update that graph – it was done some years ago. The 2 peaks should be even more apparent by now. Yes there would be a peak in the late 60s & again in the early 2000s when the passing of the last veterans stimulated public interest. But I suspect we’ll be swamped in Great War books once the centenaries arrive.
